Welcome to The Lightroom Reflexology in East Looe, Cornwall;
Reflexology for health, relaxation and renewal
My name is Karen Davison and I am a fully qualified Reflexologist based in East Looe, Cornwall. My practice is easily accessible from Liskeard, Saltash, Callington, Polperro, Torpoint, Lostwithiel and the surrounding areas.
My Story
I have always had an interest in holistic therapies. This influence partly came from my parents who would visit Rickard Lane's health shop in Plymouth. As a young girl I would smell all the lovely herbs in the shop. To this day if ever I visit that health shop the smell just takes me back.
My first experience of Reflexology was from my a friend who was a Reflexologist at the time. My youngest daughter Amber would love it when Sally visited, as she would get a mini Reflexology session. Several years Later I trained with the Devon School of Reflexology where I received a distinction.
I am now also a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.
Your first Reflexology appointment will involve a consultation of your health history and emotional well-being which will be confidential.
This will allow me to access your needs and understand what you would like to gain from having reflexology.
Initial reflexology session with a free consultation: 90 minutes £40
Sessions thereafter: 60 minutes £40
I use a comfortable reclining reflexology chair. You only need to remove your shoes and socks for reflexology. Once seated I will cleanse your feet with warm towels. You will be gently tipped back where the spine is supported during your treatment. Once comfortable I will offer you a blanket to get extra cosy.
During a reflexology session some people like to chat, others like to be silent. It's lovely to have an hour to yourself to switch off and put your feet up in a quiet place to just be.
After a treatment you may feel a general feeling of lightness, or feel more energised or calm. Benefits may be noticed after one or two treatments.
If you are seeking reflexology to help with a certain condition, a course of treatments may give the body the best chance to respond.
Although Reflexologists give general aftercare advice they don’t claim to cure diagnose or prescribe.
Reflexology is a non invasive complementary therapy that dates back to ancient times. Reflexology is based on the theory that the feet and hands are mini maps of the systems, organs and glands of the body. There are points on the feet called reflexes that mirror these parts of the body. By pressing these points using the thumbs, fingers and knuckles, this can stimulate the energy pathways relieving congestion.
Reflexology works with a persons own potential to bring their body back into balance physically and emotionally. Reflexology will have a different effect on an individual basis. For some people Reflexology can help a person to deeply relax by releasing stress and tension.
During a reflexology session there are more than 7000 nerve endings on the feet that can be stimulated encouraging the body to move back into balance, promoting a more positive wellbeing.
Many of my clients come to me with support with muscular aches and pains, sleep issues, or stress reflated conditions. Others come to feel more balanced. Whatever your reason for seeking support for your health and well being, with reflexology, you’ll be turning down your fight or flight stress hormones and allowing your body to move to a place where it can relax and digest. This has to be a positive move.
With the act of touch, of Reflexology.
"Healing isn't forgetting.
The actual healing happens when you no longer react to old triggers with the same intensity as before. The memories are still there, but they do not have the same power over you."

Reiki is a a healing energy that supports the body’s own natural ability to heal itself. Reiki originated in Japan during the early 20th Century. It is a gentle, yet powerful complementary therapy that works along side conventional medicine.
Before a reiki session, you will lay down fully clothed on a couch, where you will be made comfortable with cosy blankets and pillows.
Once settled I will gently place my hands non-intrusively over your body, in a sequence from your head to your feet.
In some areas of your body Reiki can feel like the warmth from the sun, or a chill on a frosty day. You may feel sensations of tingling or a gentle pulsating .Some people may also see colours. You may feel a deep sense of calm. Sometimes emotions may come up to the surface where they are heightened .This is a good thing and usually clears within a couple of days.
Reiki flows where it is needed .Each person will receive reiki differently.
Reiki helps the body to move into a state of rest and digest ,the best place for the body to be, promoting stress, reduction and inner calm.
